WHY ROCK CLIMB?!

"Climbing is not a battle with the elements, nor against the law of gravity; it’s a battle against oneself….
There is no limit to the effort one can demand of oneself. This quality is the basis of all human achievement in whatever field."   - Walter Bonatti

"I believe that courage is all too often mistakenly seen as the absence of fear. If you descend by rope from a cliff and are not fearful to some degree, you’re either crazy or unaware. Courage is not freedom from fear. It is being afraid and going on. Once you have looked fear in the face and have overcome it, you can do it again and again and again."    - Leonard Zunin

"If your life is ever going to get better, you'll have to take risks. There is simply no way you can grow without taking chances....To risk is to loosen your grip on the known and the certain, to exceed one’s usual limits in reaching for any goal....Taking a risk is central to everything worthwhile in life." - David Viscott, MD
